Fellow Texans, are you ready for a long, hot, summer? We should all be used to hot summer weather in Texas but the last few years the high temperatures seem to be getting even warmer, and this summer might be no different.

While meteorological summer began on June 1, astronomical summer begins on June 20, the June solstice, which also happens to be the longest day of the year, so enjoy the daylight while you can.

How Hot Will Texas Get This Summer?

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, it's going to be a brutally hot summer for Texas. While June hasn't been too bad, which the Farmer's Almanac was right about, the publication predicts a rapid warm up into record breaking heat across Texas and Oklahoma.

In fact, the Farmer's Almanac predicts that most regions will see above-normal temperatures. The Old Farmer's Almanac reports that last summer was one of the hottest on record and this summer is shaping up to be the very hot as well.

Record Breaking Heat and Dry Weather for Texas

The Old Farmer's Almanac says Texas and Oklahoma could see high temperatures this summer 4 degrees above normal. And it's not just the Lone Star State that will be hotter than hot. The Heartland is also expected to see temperatures 4 degrees above normal and the Deep South and Southwest could experience "significantly warmer conditions". Only the Northwest and southern Florida are expected to have a "cooler" summer.

As for rain in Texas this summer, we can expect dry conditions which really shouldn't surprise anyone.

So be prepared for a long hot summer in Texas. And that means preparing for the heat by having plenty of water and making sure your A/C is ready.
