A man in Texas has recently racked up his seventh DUI charge after cops pulled him over for drunk driving near Kendall County, TX. This comes after 40 years worth of recurring criminal history. Let's begin.

You know the saying, "fool me once, shame on you," and all that? Well, who gets the shame when you pass the seventh fooling? A question for the philosophers, I suppose.

You see, 58-year-old Dennis Lee Giddings was busted for his seventh and final time for drunk driving, and he was sentenced to 50 years in prison as a result.

The most recent charge stems from what happened back on the 4th of July in 2024. This was when Giddings crashed his Ford Fusion into a fire truck in Boerne, TX.

Giddings was driving the wrong way down a city street and nearly struck the fire truck head on had it not been for the quick actions of the firefighter behind the wheel who swerved at the last minute. Instead, Giddings struck the side of the engine before coming to a stop down the road.

Giddings' Combative Behavior When Confronted

Firefighters rushed to see if he was okay, and Giddings allegedly was combative and only blamed them for the accident. There was a strong odor of alcohol coming from Giddings' car.

The fun didn't end there, as Giddings resisted arrest once law enforcement arrived, requiring the combined strength of three officers to place him in cuffs. His combative behavior continued all the way to the jail.

A search of his vehicle found three empty liquor bottles in the trunk, an empty bottle in the back seat, and a half-empty bottle of vodka in the glove box.

• 2001, Bandera County - Aggravated Assault - five years in prison
• 2004, Kendall County - DWI - five years in prison
• 2007, Kendall County - Aggravated Assault - 20 years in prison

Unless Giddings lives to 108, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice might be his final home away from home.
