If a Trick-or-Treater Has a Blue / Teal Bucket, Texans Need Keep This Response in Mind
Halloween is around the corner, and Texans are getting ready to make sure their children are dressed up, ready to trick-or-treat, and have a good time. But I do think it’s very important that we keep in mind that some children aren’t just scared of the ghouls and goblins; Halloween can also be overwhelming from a sensory standpoint.

What Does The Blue Halloween Bucket Indicate?
If you’re passing out candy or you see a child carrying a blue or teal bucket, keep in mind that it may be a symbol of something you need to be aware of. Accoring to Today, blue or teal is sometimes used to indicate autism awareness and neurodiversity. A child carrying a blue bucket may be communicating that they are autistic or may have sensory needs, so it’s important to be patient and understanding.
What Does The Teal Halloween Bucket Indicate?
You may also see children carrying teal buckets, which are commonly associated with food allergies. The Teal pumpkin bucket encourages homes to offer non-food treats, such as glow sticks, small toys, stickers, or other items that can be enjoyed by children with food allergies. We want everybody to have a spooky good time when it comes to Halloween, but we also want everyone to be aware of their surroundings and mindful of children who may need a little extra patience, understanding, or accommodation. Halloween is for everyone, and sometimes a little awareness can make the night a whole lot better for a child and their family.
