
Lake Waco Finally Rises Above Normal Levels
Thankfully, the rain has come and gone, and Lake Waco is now sitting above its normal level at 462 feet, according to KXXV. For a time, water levels in Lake Waco fluctuated. Despite those changes, some residents continued to visit the lake, even though levels weren’t always ideal. Now that conditions have returned to a more normal state, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reminding residents to remain alert.

While low water levels can present challenges, high water can also pose risks. Arian Jacinto with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said that if water levels reach flood stage, the public will need to be prepared.
What Does Jacinto Want Waco Residents To Know?
“If we move into the first stage, we ask the public to stay aware while recreating on the lake, especially those on boats, to watch for debris,” Jacinto said. As Texans know, the weather can be unpredictable. Because of this, Jacinto said officials will continue monitoring local water levels during severe weather seasons and will keep reminding residents to stay safe.
