Some in Texas dislike the idea of moving.

Just think about it for a moment or two. Having to pack up everything you own, placing it in a trailer, and taking it someplace potentially new? We can literally hear the stress levels growing.

So moving is just a part of life we all grit our teeth and deal with when it happens. Yes, potentially going someplace new is exciting, but also nerve-wracking. But, what if a person decides to move somewhere else, but not leave the Lone Star State?

That does indeed happen here in Texas. There's even data that shows it happens!

To find out, we turn to data collected by Texas Real Estate. Overall in 2023, 479,000 residents left the Lone Star State for another part of the United States, while 612,000 made their way to Texas. Overall, Texas grew by 133,000 with new residents.

States that people moved to Texas from included California, Florida, Louisiana, New York and Oklahoma. Meanwhile the states Texans up and left for were California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, and Oklahoma. But the main question, how many people moved in the Lone Star State but didn't leave?

Per the data, a staggering 3,356,000 placed roots in another part of the state after leaving their original location. So to say the least, people do love living in the Lone Star State. As revealed by WFAA, the chairman of Texas Realtors, Jef Conn. stated the following:

"Texas is a great place to live...With our wide variety of locations, quality of life, and thriving economy, it's not surprising that so many Texans who moved chose to remain in the Lone Star State."

So it looks like Texas will continue to grow!
