
Residents Were Urged To Stay Inside as Temple Police Battle Hours-Long Standoff
For nearly four hours, Temple police were involved in a standoff with a suspect who was arrested this afternoon following reports of shots fired in a residential neighborhood, according to KXXV. Authorities responded to the 1400 block of Canyon Creek Drive around 11:30 a.m. after receiving multiple calls reporting gunfire in the area.

What Happen Once Police Made It To The Reported Scene?
Upon arrival, officers identified the apartment unit where the suspect had barricaded himself inside. The standoff continued until approximately 3:15 p.m., when officers were able to enter the apartment and make contact with the suspect. The individual was taken into custody without incident.
Was Anyone Harmed At The Standoff?
At this time, Temple police are continuing their investigation to determine what additional charges may be filed. No injuries were reported during the standoff.
