Kayla Horne, an eighteen year old in Texas, was savagely attacked by her friends and had her personal items taken from her. But why did this happen? Here's what is known at the time of writing.

What Led Up To The Incident Happening?

According to WFAA, the incident took place on the morning of January 19th, 2025. Kayla Horne and one of her friends made contact with another group of individuals. The group proceeded to drink, and then made the decision to go to a nightclub. Since Kayla was underage, she didn't go into the club, instead opting to wait in the car.

Later, Horne began to feel unwell in the vehicle. Eventually, Horne vomited inside the car. After that, the group came back outside from the nightclub, and there were unhappy with Horne.

Actions Of The Group After Coming Out Of The Nightclub

Immediately, according to Horne, one of the unidentified females in the group hit her:

“Out of nowhere, one of the girls punched me in my mouth and jaw...Just kept getting beat on and beat on.”

After the attack, multiple items of Horne's were taken from here illegally. Her jewelry, money, and phone were the mentioned items, and then Horne was forcibly removed from the vehicle by being shoved, and simply left on the street.

Horne told WFAA: “I thought I was going to die.” Police were alerted to the situation at 6 AM.

What Did The Police Charge The Group With?

WFAA revealed the group has aggravated assault charges against them. But, Horne's aunt, Jessica Alexis, isn't happy with just those charges:

“I don’t know why they’re not getting charged with more because they tried to kill her...Something needs to be done."

As this is a developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
