An 18-year-old Waco man, Arturo Rodriguez-Valdez, has been arrested on charges of impersonating a public servant, according to KWTX. A warrant listed in the online jail records indicates that Rodriguez-Valdez posed as a police officer and attempted to induce others to submit to his false authority. He allegedly pretended to be performing official duties as a law enforcement officer.

Rodriguez-Valdez was reportedly driving a white 2024 Chevy Colorado pickup truck equipped with sirens and blue and red flashing lights resembling those of an emergency vehicle. The lights were mounted on the front grille of the truck, making it appear similar to an unmarked police vehicle.

The arrest occurred in the 1900 block of Dutton Avenue after the vehicle was pulled over. According to the warrant, the driver was given multiple commands over a PA system to exit the truck. Videos recorded of the incident confirmed that Rodriguez-Valdez had pulled over another driver, allegedly due to a warrant. Rodriguez-Valdez reportedly told investigators that the traffic stops were meant to be a prank, but he now understands the seriousness of his actions. He has since bonded out of the McLennan County Jail.
