Texas summers are long and hard, and one of the things that make them even harder is that the evening sunlight hangs around until almost 9 PM for the bulk of the season. One way to escape the sun's afternoon fury would be to end daylight saving time, and just allow for sunset to come an hour earlier, so we can actually enjoy some evening hours before it gets too late in the day, and becomes bedtime.

Another benefit to ending daylight saving time is that with the earlier sunset, you will actually have more time before bed for the outside to cool down, and therefore your air conditioning would not have to work as hard to get your home to a desirable sleeping temperature.
