Kempner, Texas was the location of a terribly tragic accident Saturday night as a young woman and newborn baby were thrown from their vehicle and sadly passed away at the scene just before 10 PM. Three other children ages 7, 5, and 2 were also occupying the vehicle at the time, and required transportation to the ER with Baylor Scott and White.

The woman driving the 2004 Chevy Trailblazer has been identified as 28 year old Destiny Ramirez of Huntsville, Texas. Both she and the three month old baby were ejected during the accident as none of the 5 occupants were buckled into child safety seats or the driver's seat.

Tragic Accident Kills Woman And New Baby In Texas

According to this KCEN article, the Texas Department of Public Safety determined in their investigation that Ramirez was driving the car east bound on 190 at a speed much too fast for the conditions when she lost control on the wet pavement and crossed over into the oncoming lanes before hitting a guard rail.
