Here’s Why Texas Boozers Better Stock Up Before Thanksgiving

If you're planning to knock back a few shots or have mixed drinks on Thanksgiving, better get your supplies before turkey day.

Thanksgiving will be here before you know it and, as you start shopping for all the turkey, stuffing, corn, pies, etc; make sure you get your liquor order handled.

If you wait 'til the last minute, an overcooked turkey won't be the only thing "dry" at your get together.

It's kind of hard to believe that we're already heading into holiday season. Honestly, I feel like we just got past New Years Day. Time is flying so, better start your planning now.

Thanksgiving is still about a month away, it falls on the 28th this year, but it's never too soon to start picking up your groceries, party favors, etc. Otherwise you run the risk of the store being out of what you want.

Why Should I Get My Liquor Before Thanksgiving?

As far as beer and wine go ... Fireball too, apparently, since Circle K stores sell that now ... you should be fine. If you run out of those on Thanksgiving, just hit up the nearest store and get more.

Liquor though is a different matter. Believe it or not, it's illegal for liquor stores to be open on Thanksgiving in Texas. Liquor stores are not allowed to open in Texas on any Sunday and they must also close Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day no matter what day of the week those fall on.

They'll be open Black Friday though, which is good. After fighting tooth, fang and claw for that cheap appliance; you'll probably need a drink.
