When I heard about Ja'Nay LeeAnn Ratcliff of Killeen, Texas, I was absolutely amazed by this young lady. She became an author at six after winning a Central Texas College scholarship program with My Little Storie Publishing.

Her first book was titled 'The Book Club', and she's since published two more.

This young lady is an example of exactly what we want our children to be when they grow up, and she isn't even grown yet. She’s making moves that even some adults have yet to master, and contributing to children's literacy and their imaginations.

WHO IS JA'NAY LEEANN RATCLIFF

I learned about Ja'Nay LeeAnn Ratcliff from her publisher Andrea Moore, who explained to me that Ja'Nay LeeAnn Ratcliff is also a part of the youth program Songhai Bamboo Roots Youth Entrepreneurs of Killeen. You would think that that the pandemic would have slowed this young lady down, but it gave her the idea to write her third book, which was released in 2021.

"My Dad Is An Essential Worker" is about a young girl learning about essential personnel who risked it all every day to keep the world running at the height of the pandemic. She’s read to over 1,000 students during the pandemic as well. What is not impressive about this young lady?

JA'NAY LEEANN RATCLIFF IS GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD

At this point if you told me that Ja'Nay could walk on water, I wouldn’t doubt it for a moment. This young lady is on to something great. I don’t know about you, but at the age of nine I was worried about Barbie dolls and Cabbage Patch Kids. I’m almost certain by the age of 12 she might just be qualified to be President of the United States. (Ok, maybe Secretary of Education for now.)

Besides partnering up with United Way for the Read Across American campaign, she’s also created journals and T-shirts and even book bags to promote literacy. Ja'Nays parents should be very proud that they’re raising a young lady to be someone everyone’s child could admire and aspire to be like.

Even though this hard-working little woman is making sure the world is a better place one book at a time, she still enjoys the little things like a nice bowl of ice cream, going to church with her family, and playing Roblox. She also loves drumming and spending time wit her little brother and cousins.

Ja'Nay, you are an important young lady for not only the state of Texas but for the world to see. You are the perfect example of what a young girl can achieve if she puts her mind to it and isn't afraid of hard work. You have the support of all of Central Texas, myself included.
