The World of Barbie According to Joanna Gaines
Gaines told People.com that she grew up playing with Barbie dolls and she compared the experience with the world of design. The doll and three-story house can be found exclusively at Target.
The Joanna Gaines Barbie Townhouse
Gaines helped design the Joanna Barbie townhouse that has three floors, 5 rooms and over 40 arrangeable pieces of home decor. The house includes a living room and kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, sundeck, and a luxurious elevator. My examination of the house did not find any shiplap.
The Connection Between Barbie and Design
In a statement, Gaines said, “Growing up, the world of Barbie always felt to me like endless possibility. Honestly, design is much the same. It’s all about the freedom to channel creativity, imagination, and above all, play. We get to create spaces that reflect who we are, how we see the world, and our own personal feeling of home.”
