Keith Urban and Eric Church Light Up the Sky With ‘Raise ‘Em Up’ Lyric Video
Fans are hoping a music video will come from Keith Urban and Eric Church's collaboration "Raise 'Em Up," but for now, this lyric video will have to do. The lyrics to the hit song are shown against a sky full of fireworks.
Sparklers kick off the "Raise 'Em Up" lyric video, which was directed by Natalie Mroczka, as the guitar begins. As Urban sings, his words are shown across the sky, while a person uses their cellphone to capture the images. A mom holds her baby while he watches the beautiful display, and another couple holds hands. The lyric video is colorful, intriguing and full of happy people enjoying each other's company -- and the duet. It's truly a celebration of life.
"Raise 'Em Up" was written by Tom Douglas, Jaren Johnston (of the Cadillac Three) and Jeffrey Steele, but Urban had his own plan when he heard it. The three writers intended for this song to be sung by just one individual, rather than a twosome, but for the American Idol judge, a collaboration with Church was a no-brainer. In fact, he says he wishes he'd written the song, which he included on his Fuse album.
It's clear the two made the right decision to record the song as a duet — fans can't get enough. "Raise 'Em Up" was even nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Ultimately it lost to the Band Perry, but that shows just how much of an impact the single has had.
Watch the entire lyric video for 'Raise 'Em Up' above, but here's a warning: happiness is contagious.
