Martie Simpson has been chosen to serve as the new executive director of finance for the city of Killeen, after serving as interim director for seven months.

Simpson was named interim finance director by City Manager Glenn Morrison following the firing of Barbara Gonzales. She was then serving as assistant director of finance.

Simpson will earn between $78,300 and $128,472 annually and her supervisor will be Assistant City Manager- Internal Services, Ann Farris.

Simpson, who has 16 years of experience working with the city, will be responsible for overseeing accounts, payments, investments, and other aspects of the finance department, as well as giving quarterly financial reports at City Council meetings.
