Don’t get me wrong - I love a good restaurant, but is it just me or does food just taste better when it comes from a food truck? I don’t know if it’s because we’re sitting outside, if it's the unique atmosphere of it all or what, but food truck food can just hit different than restaurant food. Restaurant owners, please don’t kill me when I say that. I still love you, and I'm still going to be a loyal customer.

I think I'm just a hipster when it comes to food trucks. Being out and about watching everybody socializing outside while eating just makes it a favorite experience of mine. Every day we hear about new food trucks coming into the city, and it makes me proud because A) it means our city is growing and B) it means more entrepreneurs are making it work in Killeen.

Here are three food trucks that are making noise In the city!

 CARIBBEAN FLAVA ICE

I don’t hear anything but great things about this establishment. The Cooper family owns this particular truck, and have made a name for themselves as the summer spot to cool off with flavorful shaved ice. The menu makes you think of summer, but let's be real: we like some yummy shaved iced any time of the year.

 EL TACO FOOL

Let’s talk tacos, shall we? I am what you call a taco connoisseur, and have eaten almost every type of taco that has been served here in Killeen. But El Taco Fool is changing the game and Taco Tuesdays forever. Morgan Langes and Hakim Smith-Watkins understood the assignment when they came to bring flavorful and mouthwatering tacos to the city. You can’t mention Taco Tuesday without thinking El Taco Fool.

YEAH SHE ROLLIN

Last but not least, this young lady has been killing the game ever since she parked her amazing truck in Killeen. Lyntrell Akins is the owner of Yea She Rollin Food Truck, and also the winner of the Best Food Truck in Central Texas award. She is a force to be reckoned with! Lyntrell's Cajun dishes are absolutely amazing, full of plenty of flavor and spice that make you feel like you’re in Louisiana. Lyntrell's food tastes like Mardi Gras - every bite is a party in your mouth!

 KEEP THEM COMING, KILLEEN!

I am well aware that there are plenty of food trucks I did not mention today. I just want to shed light on some that are the talk of the town right now. I love to see how much the city is evolving with different entrepreneurs and chefs.
