Killeen HS student is a semifinalist for Military Child of the Year
Congratulations to Brooke Errington! She's a Fort Hood student who attends Killeen High School and is one of 95 semifinalists for the Military Child of the Year award in 2018.
There are 14 other students on the semifinalist list who come from Army families. The Killeen Daily Herald reports that Brooke plays volleyball for the varsity team at Killeen High School.
Operation Home Front has been awarding Military Child of the Year for the past 10 years. The honor is awarded to kids who play a positive role in their family life, and the life of their school and community. Let's wish Brooke the best of luck in becoming a finalist so she can make the trip to Washington D.C. for recognition in April.
Finalists receive $10,000 dollars, a laptop, and other gifts that are donated to the students. A winning child is selected for each branch of the armed services.
