A 33-year-old Killeen woman has been charged with injury to a child after she allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old boy when he tried to prevent her from drinking and driving.

The teen told authorities that he asked Kathryn Patricia Williams to drive him to a store, but she wanted to drink an alcoholic beverage before leaving. The boy tried to block access to a liquor cabinet, prompting Williams to hit him in the face, neck, knee and genitals. The assault, which took place in a home in the 1100 block of Conner Court in Killeen on Tuesday, was witnessed by an 11-year-old girl.

Williams was arraigned Thursday night, with bail set at $100,000.
