Lampasas County Man Indicted on Two Counts of Shooting Bald Eagles
KWTX is reporting that a Lampasas Man has been indicted on two counts of killing bald eagles.
A Grand Jury says a man in Bend is responsible for the death of two bald eagles earlier this year, along with the death of a number of other non-game birds like vultures and turkey vultures.
The consequences of killing the animals will come with a stiff penalty. Jackie Brister is 82-years-old and has been handed a citation for taking a state threatened species. Class C misdemeanors carry fines from $25 to $500 dollars. Brister also faces a Class A misdemeanor for hunting without a license. He could also be facing civil restitution for the eagles that could total amounts over $10,000 for each bird.
