59-year-old Sharon Riewe of Goldthwaite has been named in a 13-count indictment from a grand jury that says she knowingly injured children who were left under her supervision.

KWTX reports the sheriff's office and the district attorney have completed their investigation into Miss Sharon's Day Care which dates back to August of 2018 according to Mills County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Green.

Mills County's Sheriff's Office started an investigation after receiving a complaint from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services about the physical abuse of children at the daycare.

Deputies who took part in the investigation report evidence of physical abuse that involved kids ranging in age from 3 to 8 years of age. Police discovered during their investigation that previous allegations had been investigated by the state in both 2007 and 2013 but resulted in no action taken.

As the 2018 investigation went on, additional families came forward to tell authorities about their experience. Deputy Green told KWTX the process was "lengthy and exhaustive" and involved everyone in the sheriff's office.

Riewe turned herself into Lampasas Police on May 11th and was booked on 13 counts of injury to a child. She then posted $10,000 bond and was let go.
