Yes, you read that right. I want to read more in 2017. For the past few years, I've been a heavy listener of audiobooks. I love them, but in 2017 I not only want to listen more - I want to read more.

I miss reading. I miss sitting still and quietly turning pages while drifting off into a world of fiction. I love stories, and while I'm sure I'll still listen plenty here the books I'd like to read/listen to in 2017. Some of them I've already downloaded to audible, but haven't listened to yet.

  • The Casual Vacancy

J.K. Rowling is one of my favorite authors. I love her Harry Potter series, and have read/listened to it in it's entirety many times. Too many to really admit, so this year I want to dip my toe out of the Wizarding World see what she does with 'The Casual Vacancy.'

  • The Girls

Emma Cline's novel is also set in the 1960's, but this time we're on the left the coast. A young girl drawn to a carefree group she comes across in a park, is drawn into something much darker. Sounds like a page turner to me.

  • The Swans of Fifth Avenue: A Novel

Melanie Benjamin's novel goes behind the scenes of New York's high society life in the 1960's. I've read Breakfast at Tiffany's, and enjoyed Gossip Girl, so I'm really curious to dig into this novel.

  • The Thousandth Floor

Katharine McGee's novel is set in Manhattan, 2118. Doesn't that sound intriguing? I can't wait to see what lies in store.

  • Victoria: A Novel

Daisy Goodwin's novel has been adapted into a series which is set to debut on PBS, Jan. 15. After watching, 'The Crown,' on Netflix, I've got royal fever. I am ready to learn more about this distinctive monarch.
