It's a good thing Texas is such a huge state, because it was number one in numeric population growth over the past year.

According to data released Tuesday by the United States Census Bureau, 432,957 people moved to the Lone Star State between July 2015 and July 2016.

While the data indicates that Texas attracted nearly twice as many new residents as California last year, Cali still leads the nation in overall population, with 39,250,017 people compared to Texas' 27,862,596.

However, Texas took the number ten slot when it came to percentage growth, while California did not make the top ten. Utah ranked number one.
