Waco Mother Sentenced to 40 Years in Meth-Related Infant Death

Waco - In October of 2023 an 8-month-old child died and was found to have methamphetamine in her system. Her mother was arrested and charged with murder in December 2025, and yesterday she was finally sentenced for her crimes.

罪 Unintentional Death, Mother Responsible: Felony Murder Plea

The mother, Nichole Ann Green, pleaded guilty to the charge of felony murder. In a statement from the District Attorney's Office, they acknowledged that the death of the child was unintentional, but Green was responsible because she was using and distributing methamphetamine.

💔 Baby Found Lifeless: Waco Police Respond to Tragic Scene

On October 12, 2023, the Waco Police Department responded to a call about a dead child. When they arrived at the scene the baby girl was found in the lifeless in the bed with Green at the scene.

⛓️ 40-Year Sentence: Parole Possible After Two Decades

Green was to 40 years in prison, and after 20 years she will be eligible for parole. The Assistant District Attorney, Will Hix, said that, "Nicole Greene's [sic] irresponsibility and her insistence on participating in the delivery of illegal narcotic caused the death of her child, so this sentence ensures that she will remail in prison until she can no longer have children, while also eliminating the risks associated with trial and appeals."

According to the Children's Safety Network, about 49 infants and children between the ages of newborns and 9 years-old die every year from unintentional drug poisoning each year. Let's hope that justice is served for all of them, and the people responsible for their deaths are dealt the same justice that Nichole Ann Green was dealt yesterday.
