It's been a productive first week for the Randy Rogers Band's new project "Nothing Shines Like Neon." Their Soundscan debut was strong: No. 5 Billboard Top Country Albums, No. 2 Billboard Top Independent Albums, No. 13 Billboard Top Digital Albums.

When the guys announced the album late last year Rogers promised a "country album." In an interview with Rolling Stone Rogers said of the record, "It sounds like country, but not our granddad's country." And they delivered.

The new album features several notable guests including: Jamey Johnson, Alison Krauss, and Jerry Jeff Walker.

"I love being rebellious," Rogers says. "But I don't know if I've even been really good at it. I used to think we could change country music, change the genre. I was young and cocky and I thought that we got signed and we'd be the biggest shit to ever hit. And when that doesn't happen you live and learn. And you realize there is nothing you can do except be yourself and be an artist, and be true to yourself."

“Rogers boasts loads of grit, swagger and heart." - USA Today

“The Texas native’s throat sounds as pained as his heart – a delivery that seals every last syllable of these wounded country songs.” -The Washington Post

“There’s something deliciously imperfect about the tone of Randy Rogers’ voice.  Warm, as little gritty and slightly breathless – like the first sip of whiskey at the start of a long night. Why would you fix that?” –Country Weekly

“The Randy Rogers Band dives headfirst into songs of loss, love and, above all truth.”
The San Francisco Chronicle

“Amid the glitzy culture that dominates today’s country scene, the Randy Rogers Band’s old-fashioned approach to stardom seems revolutionary.”
Kansas City Star
