NSFW: Video Released Showing Conduct From Fired Belton, Texas UMHB Coach
Recently, the head coach of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Mark Morefield, was fired from his position on January 24th, 2023. When Morefield was first let go, there wasn't any indication of why he was let go from his position, and UMHB did not provide a statement regarding his departure.
Morefield at the time of his firing, according to KCEN, had coached the team to 13-4 record, and holding an 8-2 record in the American Southwest Conference. Morefield also released a statement regarding his firing:
"My emotions got the best of me due to a player who had just torn her ACL moments prior during practice. I was hurting for that player because of the hard work she had put in to have a successful season. The next day before practice I apologized to the team for my out of character moment and explained why I was upset. This does not excuse my actions, and I apologize to everyone affected. I wish the team the best as they finish out the season. I plan to build another program in the near future."
Now, a video has been released of the moment in question.
