The Crane Independent School reported 20 confirmed cases of chlamydia where enrollment is around 300 kids.

Crane is located about half an hour west of Odessa. According to the report, district officials plan to meet on Monday with the school’s advisory committee of teachers, parents and school officials to discuss the situation.

However, Crane is not an isolated incident. According to the Dallas County Health And Human Services the number of sexual transmitted diseases has been increasing among high school students dramatically in the past few years.

Nationally the Center for Disease Control and Prevention are reporting higher rates, mostly in the Southern States.

Here's some rather alarming national statistics. U.S. high school students surveyed in 2013 from the CDC.

47% had never had sexual intercourse.
34% had had sexual intercourse during the previous 3 months, and, of these
41% did not use a condom the last time they had sex.
15% had had sex with four or more people during their life.
Only 22% of sexually experienced students have ever been tested for HIV.
