If gift-giving is your thing, this one is for you. Hide your partner's Valentine's Day gift, and leave romantic clues or rose petals leading the way.
Binge Watch Romantic Movies
Grab some popcorn and snacks, turn out the lights, and settle in for some romantic flicks.
Play a Game
This is one of my favorites. I mean, c'mon, when was the last time you played a game, just the two of you? Open a bottle of wine and have some fun.
Write Each Other Love Letters
It's good to say "I love you" in person, but writing a letter can last a lot longer. You can always say so much more in a letter and it lasts forever.
Enjoy Breakfast in Bed
Instead of the craziness that mornings usually bring, enjoy a leisurely breakfast in bed. After all, what's Valentine's Day without it?
Craft Something Together
Get in the DIY mode with some crafts. Consider making items you can hang around the house, like picture frames. Hobby stores are a good place to find craft kits.
Take the Day Off Together
Take a day to play hooky. Start with breakfast in bed. Plan a day of activities around the house or plan to go out. The point is spending a day together you normally would not.
Go for a Car Ride
Driving to explore new terrain together might just hit the spot. No need to have a particular destination. For an added extra touch, take along a picnic lunch.
Go for a Walk
Talk about some one-on-one quality time, this is it. Even if it's a bit nippy, it's a great opportunity to unwind on a quiet walk or a scenic hike. Abilene has several trails where you can go for a stroll, including the Cedar Creek Waterway.
Cook Dinner Together
Who needs a crowded, busy restaurant? A quiet dinner at home is much more romantic, and cooking together can be a blast. Give it a try.
Go Stargazing
One word - romantic. Most of us can stargaze straight from our own backyards, no telescope required. Just lay down a blanket, look toward the sky, and make some memories.
I realize how hard it can be to make the perfect plans for Valentine's Day. Every year it seems like I struggle to top the previous year. Restaurants can be crowded. Flowers and candy are nice but played out. This year why not do something a little different?
