The list of school districts who are taking care of their teachers continues to grow here in Central Texas as Round Rock ISD is the latest to award raises to teachers, librarians, counselors, and their registered nurses.

Rebecca Flores with KVUE reports the salary increase will be between 7 and 8 %. The district says staff with 6+ years on the job will get a pay increase of about $4,300. Staff with 1 to 5 years of service will see a bump in pay of about $3200.

All other employees will receive a 3.5% increase approved by the board which will kick in after Governor Greg Abbott signs House Bill 3. This bill pushed more than $11.5 billion into the public school system and changes the way formulas are used to figure how much money a school will get per student.
