See Photos from Killeen’s First Color Up 5k!

As someone who hasn't been a fan of exercise since the 1st grade mile run, this is the first time anyone has ever made running look fun! This Saturday, runners from around Central Texas geared up for the 1st Color Up 5k run in Killeen. I had heard about color runs before, but had never actually seen one in person. If you aren't familiar with the concept, basically it's like a normal 5k, except people throw "pixie dust" color at you while you run or walk! As I have said before, I've never been the most athletic person, and the idea of running early on a Saturday morning seemed like a crazy idea. However, as soon as I arrived at the Killeen Civic Center, my mind was COMPLETELY changed! This event was awesome!

First of all, everyone dresses really fun and over the top! From pink feather eyelashes to wedding dresses, there was a little bit of everything there on Saturday! They had fun music playing to get the crowd pumped, and even a little dance party before the race started. The best part was, it wasn't even a timed race, so you could take your time getting to the finish line! I had blast hanging out there, and will definitely participate next time!
