Seton Medical Center Harker Heights Joins Thousands to Raise Awareness, Funds for Breast Cancer
When you think about hospitals you're probably thinking of quiet, well-sanitized, linoleum-floored corridors - maybe I've seen too many horror movies. But that's not the case in real life. A lot of hospitals, especially some of the notable ones in Central Texas are employed by vibrant, passionate and above all else, fun staff because in the end, it's how they treat you as a person that's most important.
The Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights is a contender in the 2016 Medline Pink Glove Dance video competition, which features hospitals from around the country with staff wearing pink-colored exam gloves "to celebrate hope for a cure through the joy of dancing and honor all those affected by the disease [breast cancer]."
The winners of the competition, which will be announced September 30, receive a $15,000 donation in their name to the breast cancer charity of their choosing. As part of the competition, Seton HH raised $2,000 for the Seton Breast Cancer Fund in Austin.
Melissa Purl, Director of Marketing for Seton HH had this to say after staff, nurses and doctors were done filming:
Creating this video for the Medline Pink Glove dance competition has been a labor of love for all of us and we are so excited to participate and compete with our colleagues nationwide.
With video submissions live since Monday, September 12, Seton HH asks patients, friends, family and neighbors to go to PinkGloveDance.com and vote for their video. Haven't seen it yet? It's currently playing at the top of the page right now!
Almost every department in the hospital participated in the event.
