Austin’s Shane Gillis Brings Laughter with Season 2 of Tires
One of Austin's favorite resident comedians, Shane Gillis, is riding a massive hit wave right now.
Tires on Netflix is a Hit and Season 2 Confirms It
His Netflix show Tires just dropped its second season, which, based on early reviews, is massively successful. Gillis' second season is sharper, funnier, and somehow even more ridiculous than the first. The show is funny, vulgar, and still wholesome and endearing.
Why Does Tires Work
In Tires, Shane plays a somewhat lovable, somewhat lazy mechanic, who is being pressured to take a bigger role in the company. With just the right mixture of witty writing and stupid jokes, it totally works.
From Canceled to Killing It
A few years ago, Shane Gillis made headlines after getting canceled from Saturday Night Live on the eve of his first appearance. Instead of fading into oblivion, he doubled down on stand-up and sketch comedy. His perseverance paid off. He’s now one of the most talked about comedians in the country, and Tires is helping to make him a household name.
Can You See Shane Perform in Central Texas
Shane is currently traveling on a massive arena tour and hitting all the major cities across America. He will be playing venues like the Honda Center in California and the Toyota Center in Houston. At this time, he has no official Central Texas city stops, but that does not mean locals are completely out of luck.
Shane has been known to stop by for surprise sets at the Comedy Mothership in downtown Austin. Owned by Joe Rogan himself, the Mothership is a place where comedians will pop in and test out new material or pull a last-minute show.
Whether it's on Netflix, an arena stage, or a surprise set at the Mothership, Shane Gillis is everywhere right now, and Central Texas is lucky to have him here!
