Starbucks Goes Solar in Texas
Starbucks in Texas is going green. With two Cypress Creek solar farms now providing power to 360 coffee shops across the State.
For the past two years, the Seattle based coffee giant has been using clean solar energy at 600 hundred locations in North Carolina, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.
The latest deal brings Starbucks green commitment closer to home and looks to be just the first step. With investments in six other Texas-based farms.
This isn't just about using an alternative energy source, the company is expected to save millions in utility costs. With all that extra cash maybe that latte will cost a little less next time. I don't think that's how it works, but here's to hoping. Probably just easier to play the cash cow returning May 15th, keep an ear out for those codes!
