State Joins Investigation into Two Children Found Dead in Temple
Temple Police and The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services have partnered to pursue a case that involves two dead children found inside a residence on West Avenue P on Monday.
In a gruesome discovery, Temple police officers discovered a two-year-old boy who had died inside the home along with the dead body of a one-year-old girl. A woman was also discovered inside the home in an almost catatonic state as described by police and reported by Megan Vanselow with News 10. A 4-year-old and 6-year-old girl were also removed from the home safely and placed in Child Protective Services custody. A judge will decide later this month if that placement should continue.
Sadly, it was the good people of the Salvation Army who made the initial discovery after doing a wellness check at the home located in Temple at West Avenue P and South 35th Street.
Police described the bodies of the two-year-old boy and one-year-old girl as appearing to have been dead for some time. The name of the unresponsive woman found in the home has not been released at this time. She was taken to Scott and White Medical Center.
