Storms Disrupt Search for Possible Drowning Victim at Stillhouse Hollow Lake Sunday Evening
KWTX is reporting a possible drowning at Stillhouse Hollow Lake over the weekend.
A search for a possible drowning victim that was underway Sunday evening was interrupted by storms but is expected to continue by 8 am this morning.
It was around 8 pm Sunday evening when a call came into the Bell County Sheriff's Department about a man who had attempted to swim to an island about 100 yards away from the shore on Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
The man went under water and did not resurface. Bell County Sheriff's Department Spokesperson Donnie Adams said the man realized he couldn't swim the distance and attempted to turn around when he disappeared into the water.
Several agencies assisted in answering the call at Stillhouse Hollow Lake including Belton Fire, Central Bell County Fire and Rescue, and the Morgan's Point Dive Team. The agencies will all continue to assist in the search Monday.
