Oh My God! See Viral TikTok Video of Rats Invading a Texas Taco Cabana
Not exactly what you want to see at any Texas restaurant.
What's the one thing you never want to see at a restaurant? Okay, I know there are many, but the viral TikTok video that's making the rounds lately has me so grossed out I may never eat out again!
Don't Ask, Don't Tell
I like to keep things simple. The "don't ask, don't tell" policy is fine with me for many things. However, when a restaurant has a rodent infestation, I definitely want to know about that.
In today's world, just about everybody has a hand held device that can record anything in an instant. If someone sees something, no matter what it is, you can bet someone is recording it and taking it straight to social media, and to those people I say "thank you!". Otherwise I might find myself belly-up at the salsa bar downing taco after taco and having no idea what I might be eating.
Taco Cabana Turned Into a House of Mouse
Have you seen this video?
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, this Taco Cabana restaurant in San Antonio, Texas had to take a few days off after a TikTok video that has since gone viral, showed several rats running-a-muck in its kitchen.
As you can imagine, social media showed no sympathy. TikTok user @ritalongg commented, “Don’t eat there.” That won't be to difficult after seeing this video.
Of course, jokes about the Disney classic “Ratatouille” were also served in a heavy dose. It's easy to see why.
“Remy about to chef it up!” Lol.
“I see Remy and the gang but where that boy Linguini,” hmmm, good question.
Taco Cabana Responds
Taco Cabana didn't find any of this funny, and I don't blame them. A statement from Taco Cabana said that the restaurant was “immediately closed”. They took care of the rodents and underwent an inspection. The San Antonio Current reports that the restaurant has since reopened.
Taco Cabana told KSAT “The pests are confirmed to have recently migrated from an outside source within the previous 48 to 72 hours, as mandated third-party sanitation and Health Department inspections revealed no recent activity prior to July 3, 2022.”
