The Nolanville City Council is moving forward with a proposal to ban texting while driving within city limits.

TxDOT took a look back at accident totals along I-35 in 2016 and found a total of 556 accidents last year alone. This includes accidents occurring between Waco and Salado. Authorities are still trying to figure out exactly how one individual was able to pull out of their Killeen apartment complex and veer off-road, hit a pole, then a guide-wire, a gas meter, cross an open field, slam into a parked semi-trailer, and become trapped in their own vehicle.

Temple Fire and Rescue is reporting a closure to the elevated portion of I-35 Northbound in Temple this afternoon.

TxDot has announced all Northbound I-35 lanes will close this evening in Salado, Texas.
