TAYLOR, Texas — Middle school teachers are being offered a huge bonus with Taylor ISD in an effort to help hire more educators.

Up to $10,000 for New Middle School Teachers

Taylor ISD has now decided to take it up another notch and really encourage new teachers to join their team by offering a very generous sign-on bonus for the upcoming school year. Taylor ISD will offer $10,000 for new middle school teachers with 3 or more years of experience who would be starting in the 2025–26 school year.

Bonuses for All New Hires & Experience Levels

For new middle school teachers with 2 or fewer years of experience, Taylor ISD will offer $5,000. All new hires, regardless of their previous levels of experience, can also qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $1,500.

Boosting Educator Quality & Student Support

These new sign-on bonuses are intended to help Taylor ISD attract high-quality educators as the district continues to grow and strengthen its academic and extra-curricular programs. Currently, the base pay for a teacher with three years of teaching experience is $53,385 and, these bonuses can make a difference for educators' quality of life.

Referral Bonuses for Current Staff

In addition to the sign-on bonuses, another $1,000 referral bonus will be offered to current staff for referring a certified teacher who is hired successfully by the district. Taylor ISD will once again offer stipends for teachers who have specialized training/credentials such as bilingual education, secondary math and science, fine arts, coaching, foreign languages, and/or career technical education. Previous graduates of Taylor High School who return to teach with the district may also qualify for additional compensation.

These new sign-on bonuses and referral bonuses are just part of a larger strategy to build a strong and committed team of teachers who can provide more support for an increasing student population. The sign-on bonus will be available to any new educator who is new to the district until August 31.
