Taylor Swift Recognized for Good Manners

Taylor Swift might have worldwide fame, but at her core, the singer is still a mild-mannered southern gal. Need proof? Well, the National League of Junior Cotillions added the 'Red' hitmaker to its list of the Ten Best-Mannered People of 2012.

According to Triblive.com, every year the list honors musicians, entertainers, athletes and other celebrities who set a good example for young people by conducting themselves with the highest sense of decorum. Naturally, Swift's tendency to be kind to the press and the graceful way in which she carries herself earned her a spot in the top 10.

“She continually carries herself with dignity, and is always gracious to her fans,” national director Elizabeth Anne Winters Russell said.

Even though Swift always seems to have a smile on her face when she's out and about (except for those times when she's striking a fierce pose on the red carpets), that doesn't mean she isn't frequently under scrutiny from the media. Swift's latest tell-all album has broken records and sold hundreds of thousands of copies, but people still crack jokes about her failing relationships.

Even Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood got under Swift's skin when they joked about the country songbird and her previous boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, calling it quits. Swift didn't lose her temper, but she did kindly hint to the New York Times that she didn't think the joke was funny.

It takes a strong woman to handle all of that with a sense of grace! That's part of the reason why the 'Begin Again' hitmaker has been so successful in her country crossover music career -- she keeps putting out hits no matter what the press says about her.
