Students of Temple High School have reason to be proud.

THS is one of just two schools in Bell County to receive academic distinctions, and the only school to do so in both math and reading. That’s according to a recent accountability rating by the Texas Education Agency, which also recognized Salado High School for achievement in mathematics.

At a meeting Monday night, TISD’s board of trustees also announced details of a partnership with Scott & White Memorial Hospital. Under this partnership, Temple students enrolled in health science classes will have the opportunity to train as if they were preparing for a job at the hospital, and would even participate in human resource orientations that prospective employees experience. Seniors will also be encouraged to intern at Scott & White facilities and observe various occupations in preparation for careers in the medical field.
