Texan Lives Double Life as Soldier and Amazing Bull Rider
If idle hands are the devil's workshop, then Chris Landry must be a pretty righteous man. Chris is a father, a soldier in the military, and a full-time student at Texas A&M University-Central Texas. That would be enough to keep most people's schedule completely full, but Chris has decided that he needed to add one more entree to his already full plate. Chris Landry is now a bull rider.
Chris has been given an opportunity with the Army to pursue his college degree full-time. Once he has earned his degree he will return to active duty. The Army has some programs, like Green to Gold, that help enlisted soldiers earn their bachelor's degree or a master's degree in order to make the switch to the Officership path of the Army.
After getting divorced Landry was having a hard time finding his way in life. That's when a close friend of his introduced Chris to bull riding. Even though Chris isn't a professional bull rider it's safe to say that this is much more than just a hobby for Landry. In an interview with KZZV he said, "Venturing out and trying bull riding, I found out that this where I believe God wants me to be. You know this is a way for me to glorify him ... I can honor him and bring glory to him through my ability to ride bulls and kind of just be an example to others."
As a morning radio show host, father, and comedian my hat is off to this man. I will never understand what could drive a man to want to ride on the back of a bull. Of course, my wife is still with me, so maybe I'd need something like a bull to match her energy as well if she left.
