The Bishop’s Palace (a.k.a. Gresham House) is a contributing building in the East End Historic District, a National Historic Landmark. The house is listed in the National Register of Historic Places at the national level of significance in the area of architecture. Bishop's Palace is one of 14 museums and historic homes that are open to the public for tours.

This home which was built for attorney Walter Gresham by architect Nicholas Clayton in 1892. The Victorian home withstood the Great Storm of 1900, but according to Elle Decor, the ghost of Gresham returns to check the home when a storm is brewing.

Gresham was not only an attorney, but an entrepreneur. He found the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe railroad lines and later served in the Texas Legislature.
