The upcoming solar eclipse is very exciting for many in the state of Texas.

There's many events planned for the big event on April 8th. There's even a flight planned from Austin for those who wish to see the solar eclipse in style. However, for those who aren't able to take to the skies, there's plenty of ways to witness the event.

But what some people don't realize is that if they want to get the best view of the moment, they will have to move around the state. So, for some residents in the state, they may notice more people than normal in their area before the event. For Bell County, this situation is about to become real.

So much so, that Bell County Judge David Blackburn, has issued a decree that many in the area should be aware of.

In a release put out on February 21st, 2024, Blackburn stated that amount of people coming to Bell County to see the best view of the eclipse will cause issues around the area:

"This declaration will assist the Bell County Office of Emergency Management in its coordination and collaboration with the State Department of Emergency Management. If, when we are in need of state assistance for the event, having this declaration in place facilitates the opportunity for State assistance."

In addition, Blackburn encouraged those in the area to avoid traveling to the best of their ability, and most importantly, take care of any important business on or before April 4th, as per the release:

"So, please…if you have groceries to buy, gas to put in your car, or errands to run …do all of these days before the April 8th weekend. You will be glad you did."

If further details are released, we will have them available.
