Lawsuit Against Apple May Get Some Texans A Small Payout

According to The US Sun, the legal action is described as the following. Apple stood prosecuted of "concealing a material defect that ultimately causes iPhone audio features to become unresponsive and fail of their essential purpose as smartphones."

If a resident of the state of Texas possessed an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus, and experienced issues with audio on the previously mentioned phones, they are qualified for a payment. However, there are certain needs that one must meet to obtain the payment in question.

Requirements Needed To Qualify For Money From Apple In Texas

Per The US Sun. Texans must have had and iPhone 7 or 7 Plus between September 16, 2016 - January 3, 2023. Individuals who paid for repairs to the phone could collect up to $349, with the minimum amount offered at $50. If one did not seek repairs, but did mention the problem, they could get $125.

All claims will be checked in repair records from Apple itself. Texans will not need a receipt to prove that the phone in question was repaired.

How One Can Claim Their Money

If one fulfills the requirements, they can go to this website to file their claim. Texans have until June 3rd, 2024 to do so. As this is a developing story, we will have more information if it becomes available.
