Texas Native Drowns in Red River
KWTX and the Associated Press report that a man from the Lone Star State lost his life in the Red River.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol made the report of the man drowning on the Oklahoma side of the Red River over the weekend.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said that Louis Jackson, 28, of Denison was found in the river on Sunday afternoon. Colbert Fire Department found the body of Jackson in around seven feet of water on Sunday.
The OHP said that Jackson had been fishing with one his family members on Saturday at the Denison Dam. Jackson went to sleep in a vehicle, but when the family member returned Jackson was gone. The report from the OHP also said that Jackson wasn't wearing a life jacket while on Denison Dam.
