Another item sold in the state of Texas has been pulled from store shelves. Here's why the product was taken away from stores.

Food Removed From Stores Due To Recently Discovered Ingredients

As reported by the US Food and Drug Administration, cashews from John B Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. have been recalled. The specific food in question, 8.25 oz Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews, was found to have had elements that aren't supposed to be in the food. The FDA reports that some of the cashews may have coconut or milk in them.

The component is not normally part of the cashews, and could cause major issues for an individual was has an allergy to the previously mentioned ingredients. If a person consumes said cashews with the items included, and has allergies to coconut or milk, the FDA states they could have serious or life threatening reactions.

The FDA revealed what the can looks like:

- 8.25 oz plastic can with a blue wrap around label
- Best if used by Jul 08 2025 GH2 (located on the bottom of the plastic can)
- UPC: 078742133348

The issue with the food item was discovered after, as said in the press release by the FDA, coconut cashews were found to have been cans labeled for honey nut cashews. A consumer report helped identify the problem.

The FDA tells consumers to either throw away the product, or return it to the store where it was purchased. As this is a developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
