I don't think there will ever be a artist like George Strait. I look back and listen to his music and the only way I can think to describe it is as the "soundtrack to my life". I can listen to any George song and immediately pin point exactly where in my life I was and what was going on just by listening to his music. That is such a powerful thing.

Of course, like most country music fans, when I heard the George was "retiring" from live touring I was very upset. I am a lifelong "superfan" of country music, but next to my family, LIVE music is literally the biggest part on my life.  I have come to grips with the fact that "The King" has more than earned a well deserved break from the road, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I am totally kidding about that, but again...I consider George the "Gold Standard" as far as country music is concerned and I will definately miss seeing him when he rolls thru town!

It is impossible to really pick only FIVE of my favorite George songs, but if I HAD to I'd start here!
