Throw-down At Waco Dollar General Sends Cop and Suspect to Hospital
Sometimes I think Waco and Florida have a lot more in common than people think. Both places have some very crazy events happen a little too often.
Our partners at News 10 report that an altercation took place at the Dollar General Store in Waco located at 4012 Bosque.
I frequent this exact location and I've actually seen some pretty crazy things happen, so this story comes as no surprise.
Around 10:15 AM, law enforcement arrived at the DG after a report that a man named Fernando Sandoval was trying to pass a counterfeit $100 bill.
When confronted by an officer, Sandoval, 34, reportedly resisted arrest. I'm sure most of us know that is pretty much one of the worst things you can do, but it doesn't look like Sandoval got the memo. Witnesses state that during the altercation, Sandoval pushed the officer's head into the front glass door, leaving it cracked. The officer was also bitten on his right forearm by the suspect.
Many customers came together to help detain the suspect while the officer called for back up.
Both Sandoval and the officer were taken to the hospital to be checked. The officer received cuts on his head and a broken bone in his right hand.
While Sandoval was most likely originally only going to face forgery charges, he is now also facing charges for aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and attempting to take a weapon from an officer.
