Today Is ‘National Love People Day’ AND My Mom’s Birthday
Every day is some sort of 'National' or 'Global' day. Whether it's a food "National Corndog day" or an action "Global Walk a Mile day" I usually don't give it much consideration.
But, today is my mom's birthday and the national day from National Day Calendar seems fitting.
September 30th is 'National Love People Day' and man, do I love my mom.
The description of the day is as follows "National Love People Day asks us to lift others up through the profound power of unconditional love."
Is there any love more unconditional and pure as a mother's? When it's full, no. It can only be matched. I'm so fortunate to have a mother who loves me as much as humanly possible.
So while I'm lucky and will celebrate my mother tonight with the rest of my family at dinner. Today isn't just 'Love one person day', no, everyone deserves love.
Be kind, hold the door, smile at a stranger. Doing so can be discouraging at times when I give a "good morning" to someone I'm ignored 9/10 times, but I continue to do it for that one smile. Spreading a smile is always worth the little effort.
Here's a picture of my mom and dad way back in the '70s or so, they've been married since 1977, it's easy to remember on account of the '77 Dallas Cowboys being one of the greatest teams in NFL history.
Happy birthday, mom, I love you. And maybe not to the same extent, but everyone else, I love you too.
