Tropical Storm Hanna Strengthens Off Texas Coast

The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Hanna has strengthened as it moves towards the Texas coast.

News 10 reports Hanna was located about 260 miles east of Corpus Christi with winds around 45 mph.  Heavy rain, rough waters, and strong winds are expected as the storm approaches.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says the state is preparing for any emergency issues that might occur from the strong storm and has several state resources on standby, including search and rescue teams from different departments and agencies.

Forecasters are saying the storm is expected to make a left turn moving more west as it makes land fall.  We are expected to see scattered showers over the weekend in Central Texas.

Another Tropical Storm named Gonzalo is moving through the Carribbean Sea and showing some signs of strengthening as it moves closer to the southern Windward Islands.

It's that time of year we usually seem to see more of these storms moving into the Gulf of Mexico.

We could definitely use some rain here in Central Texas, but let's hope the storm doesn't cause any damage along the Texas Coast.
