Twin Lakes YMCA Breaks Ground on Major Outdoor Expansion
Cedar Park - A YMCA in Central Texas is getting some major upgrades that will include climbing towers and zip lines as part of an adventure course.
Groundbreaking Ceremony in Cedar Park
The Orr Family RCI Adventure Course and The Avery Family Pavilion are two additions that began construction on May 13th at Twin Lakes Family YMCA campus in Cedar Park. Community members and local officials were invited to a ceremony celebrating the groundbreaking event.
Largest Investment in Outdoor Fun
According to the CEO of the YMCA of Central Texas, the addition of these facilities is a result of the largest outdoor recreation investment that the Central Texas region has seen in 10 years. Constructions plans for The Avery Family Pavilion indicate that it will be over 11,800 square feet.
Adventure Course for Thrill-Seekers
The new facilities in Cedar Park should be alluring enough to people of all ages that they will come from all areas of Central Texas as far south as San Antonio and as far north as Waco. A multi-level climbing structure and zip lines will be available for the older and more physically active participants, and the Avery Family Pavilion will offer a community space for family gatherings, events, and programs.
$12 Million Project Set to Open in 2026 ️
The expansion project is going to cost almost $12 million dollars. Both The Avery Family Pavilion and the RCI Adventure Course are expected to open in spring of 2026.
